Welcome to ColeyBear

Hello, I’m Barry, the founder and maker behind ColeyBear. I started this business in 2017 to share the comfort of my handmade blankets with others. I never imagined it would one day become my lifeline.

In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was laid off after a 20-year career as an engineer. Work was extremely hard to find, so I put everything into ColeyBear to support myself and my daughter. What began as a side project became our livelihood. Today it provides for our family and helps fund my daughter’s college education, a goal I’m determined to see through.

Our Craft

Every ColeyBear blanket is handmade with care. Thick, soft knit yarn gives each one a chunky texture that is as beautiful as it is comforting. They’re made to be a cozy part of your home, whether you’re settling in after a long day or choosing a thoughtful gift for someone you love.

A One-Person Business

ColeyBear is a minority-owned small business, and I’m its only operator. I take personal pride in each blanket, and I pack every order myself with a handwritten note. Every stitch reflects my belief in the power of small businesses to change lives, not only for the maker, but for the people who support them.
